WalkingWalking - There are hoards of good walks in the area including the long distance path.. "The Nidderdale Way". Also the alternate "Pennine Way" passes by Pateley Bridge. Also, dozens of short walks with breath-taking scenery

Birdwatching -
Gouthwaite resevoir is close by where a good variety of birds can be viewed from hides.

CavingCaving
Manchester Hole and Goyden Pot open to the public at Lofthouse, also smaller caves at How Stean. Two caves are also available with permission near the Stump Cross Caverns.

Fishing - The local river Nidd and various lakes in the surrounding area are available for fishing. Daily or Weekly tickets can be purchased locally.

SightseeingSightseeing - The valley is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. Also, and within easy reach, are a number of ancient Abbeys and Stateley Homes.The towns of Harrogate and York are both nearby, or if you prefer you can tour countryside made memorable by TV series such as Heartbeat, Emmerdale, or the James Herriot Series.

Rock Climbing - Just 6 miles from Pateley Bridge is Brimham Rocks. The ideal place for beginners or experts to test their limits.

Bowling -
Visitors are welcome at the Bowling Green of Pateley Bridge and bowls are available for hire.
